Bible Video: A Woman Touches Jesus' Clothes and is Healed
Scripture: Mark 5:25-34
This Bible video about Jesus portrays a very unique miracle. As Jesus was on his way to bring the daughter of Jairus back from the dead, there was a multitude of people following him. As He walked, He felt that someone had touched Him (in a special way). In other words, He felt that virtue had gone out of him (Mark 5:30). Jesus had the powers of perception that only the Son of God could have. He asked, “Who touched my clothes?” His disciples said, “Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?” (Mark 5:30) In other words, his disciples had no idea what he really meant and they wondered why he would ask who touched Him when there were so many people who could have touched him.

The woman in this story had been afflicted with blood loss for twelve years (Mark 5:25). She had been to many doctors and spent all of her money and only became worse. Many people in that situation would have become bitter and cursed God. However, this woman had faith and believed she could be healed by simply touching the clothing of Jesus. When the woman touched Jesus, she was healed – “straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague” (Mark 5:29). As mentioned, the woman in this story was healed by her faith in Jesus. Jesus didn’t do anything to heal the woman – she was healed by her faith in Him. Now, the question that we should consider is – do we have the kind of faith to be healed? Do we believe that Jesus can heal us of our physical, or maybe even more importantly, spiritual pains and injuries. How can we gain more faith in Jesus? A few ways to gain more faith are: study our scriptures daily and pray daily. Doing those things is a start to deeper faith.
