Bible Video: Acts 9 - Saul’s Conversion
In this Bible video, we learn about Saul’s conversion in Acts 9 to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Saul was a man who believed the cause of the Christians (believers in Christ) was in error. Because of that, he persecuted the Christians and threatened them with death. While Saul was travelling on the road to Damascus, he saw a light in heaven and heard a voice saying, “Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?” (Acts 9:4). Saul then answered and said, “Who art Thou Lord”? Then the voice said, “I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks” (Acts 9:5). In other words, Jesus knew that persecuting the Christians went against the nature of Paul or who he really was.” Then, Paul asked what he should do. Jesus told him to go into the city and he would be guided. Saul was then made blind and couldn’t see for three days and went into the city as he was commanded.

To prepare the events for Saul’s arrival in the city, the Lord appeared to Ananias (a disciple) in a vision and told him to go into the street and to find Saul of Tarsus who would be praying. He told Ananias that Saul had seen a vision of Ananias putting his hand on him to give him his sight. Ananias was quite worried and told the Lord that He had heard of Saul and how he had persecuted the Christians. Jesus then told him that Saul was a “chosen vessel” and that he would preach about Him (Jesus) to the Gentiles, to kings and the children of Israel. Ananias, according to the word of the Lord, then went and restored Paul’s site through the power of God.
Saul then was baptized and thereafter became known as Paul. Paul became an apostle and travelled to many lands to preach of Jesus Christ. Paul spent the rest of his life in the service of God. Paul become so dedicated and faithful in the preaching of Jesus that 14 books of the Bible were written by him: Romans, First Corinthians, Second Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, First Thessalonians, Second Thessalonians, First Timothy, Second Timothy, Titus, Philemon, Epistle to the Hebrews.
