Bible Video: The Intercessory Prayer

Scripture: Matthew 26:33-35John 17:1-5

After the Last Supper, Jesus went with his apostles to the Garden of Gethsemane. However, before He entered into the garden to atone for the sins of the world, He offered the Intercessory Prayer, with His apostles. First, he warned Peter that Satan desired to have him that he may sift his as wheat (Luke 22:31). He told him that when he was converted to strengthen his brethren (Luke 22:32). Jesus then told Peter that he would deny Him three times.

More About this Video:

Then, Jesus offered the intercessory prayer. Here are some of the things that He said. First He said that the hour was come. He also said, “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent” (John 17:3). Jesus talked about the Father glorifying Him as He was glorified before the world existed. Then Jesus prayed for the apostles and confirmed the fact that they knew that He was sent by the Father.

Jesus then prayed that the love of the Father would be in the apostles, and that He would be in the apostles. This was His last prayer with the apostles. It was a prayer of strength for Him and for the apostles who would carry on His work when He was gone.
